This Privacy Policy explains how Circles & Cookies ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit circlesandcookies.com, download our printables, or contact us.

Circles & Cookies is a small independent brand operated by Ozge Guner in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We provide the same access, correction, and deletion rights to all visitors, regardless of where they live.

What information we collect

We collect only what we need.

When you download a free printable from our site

You can download our free printables without entering an email address or providing any personal information. We keep an anonymous record of each download — which printable, the country it was downloaded from, and the date — so we can understand which worksheets people find most useful. We do not store your IP address or browser information with this record.

If you choose to share your email through our signup form, we save it in our subscribers list along with a note about which printable prompted you to sign up, so we can let you know when new ones are released. The email is not linked to your individual download events. Sharing your email is completely optional and not required to download anything. When you submit your email through our signup form, you are giving us express consent under CASL to send you occasional updates about new printables. You can withdraw consent any time by emailing us.

When you message us

If you fill out our contact form, we collect your name (if provided), email, and the content of your message. This is stored in our database so we can reply to you.

Bot protection

We use a privacy-friendly bot-protection service from our infrastructure provider to keep our printable downloads safe from automated abuse. It checks signals from your browser to confirm you are a real visitor, does not use tracking cookies, and does not follow you across sites.

Aggregate site analytics

We use a cookieless analytics service from our infrastructure provider to count visits and understand which pages are popular. It does not track you across sites, does not fingerprint your device, and does not collect any personal information. It produces only aggregate, anonymous statistics. We cannot identify individual visitors from this data.

Technical hosting information

Our site is hosted by a third-party infrastructure provider. As with any website, the provider processes basic technical information (such as IP addresses and browser type) for security, abuse prevention, and to deliver the site. We do not use this information for marketing.

We do not use any third-party tracking, advertising, or behavioural cookies.

Cookies

We do not set marketing or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may set short-lived security cookies that protect the site from automated abuse. These are required for the site to function safely and are not used to identify you. Our analytics and bot-protection services do not set tracking cookies.

How we use your information

We use what we collect only for these purposes:

• Delivering the printables you requested
• Letting you know when new printables are available, if you chose to share your email
• Replying to messages you send us
• Understanding which printables and pages are popular (in aggregate)
• Meeting Canadian tax and legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing purposes.

Who we share information with

Our service providers are:

• Cloudflare for web hosting, database, security, bot protection, and cookieless aggregate analytics
• Pinterest verifies our domain via a meta tag for ownership purposes only. This does not involve tracking your visit.

Each provider has its own privacy practices, which apply to data they handle on our behalf. If we add a payment processor or new service provider in the future, we will update this policy.

Children's privacy

Our printables are made for children ages 5 to 10 but are downloaded by parents, teachers, and caregivers. Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access. You can ask us for a copy of what we have about you.
• Correction. You can ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
• Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons (such as tax records).
• Unsubscribe. You can stop receiving our emails any time by emailing us at hello@circlesandcookies.com.
• Complain. You can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information only as long as we need it.

• Newsletter subscriber emails: kept until you ask us to delete them, which we do within 30 days of your request.
• Contact form messages: deleted within 12 months of the conversation ending.
• Purchase records (when applicable): kept for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law.
• Anonymous download events: retained indefinitely as aggregate analytics; they cannot identify individuals.

Security

We protect your information through reasonable safeguards including encrypted HTTPS connections, trusted infrastructure providers, and limited access to systems that handle personal data. No system is perfectly secure. We review our safeguards regularly to keep them effective.

International data transfers

Our service providers may store data on servers in the United States or other countries. By using our site, you understand that your information may be transferred outside Canada and processed under laws that may differ from those of your home country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always show the most recent version.
